Cultural differences
flap your wingsFOODWell, first of all, Hong Kong people's taste buds are different from ours! I really have to admit that certain foods are not really to my liking. However, pizzahut is superb over here, with their baked rice, and KFC with their portugese egg tarts!
PeopleDo you know that Philipinos make up 3% of the total population in Hong Kong? Well, most of the people in Hong Kong are Chinese. Why so many philipinos? I guess mostly come over for work. Hong Kong Chinese are quite good in their customer service. However, I must add that there are also some occasions whereby they are really rude, from the experience of my friends. I wonder whether it's our expections or that the sales personel does not understand what we say in English. I do feel that if we are able to speak English or cantonese, the people would look up to you. Which is sort of true. So people, learn cantonese before you come, you can get better discounts! Oh ya, they are implementing the GST scheme either from next year onwards or after the next year!
Through the summer exchange, I have learnt about amusing experiences. Haha~ Well, hmmm...
Once I went to Macau, and in the ladies' toilet, I saw a auntie doing her business without the door closed when there is a door. Hahaha, amusing, but I guess it may just be that she is used to her culture. Also, there was this American guy who was shocked when he saw us peel off the prawns' head and sucking out the juice. He said that, from where he came from, the prawns have already been beheaded and excluded from the servings. Well... we continue to shock him with the fish's eyeballs. Gasp!

It's been a long time since I've blogged.
flap your wingsYep... It's like a century ever since I've blogged, but it's not really that long. Haha... I was just busy with studying Traditional Chinese Medicine for the last week. Well, after the TCM exam, the University held a dinner at a posh hotel( The Metropplis in Hung Hom), however the food was not really what I have expected. But the hotel do score points with the BBQ and cakes and desserts. I can only stare at the Hagen Daz as I passed by it, just because we did not pay $84 SGD for the buffet( we paid less, so had less variety too).

Well, I tried snail for the first time and I must say that the texture tastes like one lump of mozarella cheese after it has cooled from cooking. Also, my camera died from shortage of power, so I need to get some of my pics from my friends.. haha... A nice trip on a birthday, I must say. However, felt a little cheated by the locals there.

Fun at Ocean PArk...

Well, the crowd in ocean park may have dimished due to the popularity of its competitor, Disneyland. We managed to try all the rides at the park and some of the exhibitions. The rides in Ocean Park are not as exciting as that in Genting Highlands, However it is really fun.
I enjoyed the show at the OceanTheatre. The show makes you feel that ocean features are really clever. The dolphins and seals had an amazing performance and I was really thrilled to see the dolphin do stunts!
The Jelly Fish Exhibition was incredibly awsome! You will be amazed by the wonderful shapes of the jellyfish and their gracious movements in the changing lighting of their tanks.
Updates on disneyland photos will come up soon, I hope. haha
... Don''t ask me why the pandas are at the ocean park... =P But they are so cute!!

HK Disneyland part II

Anyway, the weather is very very hot these few days.. nearly had a heat stroke yesterday..
OMG!!! All sweat, stink and concussed.... Haha, but we still held onto our tight shedule. Actually, you just need one full day to finish disneyland. However, you may lose the chances to take some photos with other characters. I took photos with pooh, mickey, minnie, donald, pluto, chip and dale.. and of course the sad looking eyor... so sad then, other booths were filled with people except for his... omg...
Haha, and also, if you can't buy the whole store home, take photos... even the store assistant would help you if you asked. There was one who volunteered to help us. Weird, and I was holding to eyor,piglet, tigger and pooh bear stuffed toys! =P
Looking at my photo, i really admit that i am still so darn chubby!!! Sheesh!Or did I stick out my head too much? Haha... Or is it because I just look like that in the photo?
The shows and the photo taking, as well as the fireworks were all worth the 295HKD, that's about 60SGD. I really like the 4D show... haha... when the champange popped in the movie, we can really feel the air pressure changing... Also, with the water sprinking on us too.. haha... Cool~
Also, beware of rude people who cut your Queue, and people who yell at you so as to tell you that you are blocking their view. The uncle was really rude, not everyone knows cantonese, HELLO?! Disgrace sia, in the end the people in front of us also stood up in order to view the fireworks. Defeats his purpose of telling us to sit down eh? Although almost everyone was sitting down, how CAN we see the full glory of the event if we are blocked by a lampost? haha...
